While I am no stranger to the Vilano brand, I was surprised to learn today that they’ve started making touring/race inflatable stand up paddle boards. I’ve been a fan of the brand ever since checking out the Vilano Shadow aluminum road bike. Since it is a quality item at a low price, I wondered if the same could be said for their entry into the iSUP market.

Vilano 12-foot iSUP Specs
I have to say, this 12-foot inflatable SUP from Vilano looks super sweet. It has a touring model design, which means that you can use it for iSUP racing or just for fast paddling since it will move through the water quicker than your standard all-around SUP. (not familiar with the different design types? learn more about the types of SUPs)
I love that you can order it one of two different colors. It comes in a green/yellow combo or a red. While I think they both look great, I find that I am a bit partial to the red. You can see what I mean in the photo below.
This Vilano inflatable SUP package has a decent price. If you can catch it on sale, then you get one hell of a deal on this board. Unfortunately, I am traveling right now and can’t test out this cool new board, but I will update my thoughts on this one once I get to do that.
As you can see, this is a package deal which is perfect for beginner stand up paddle boarders. I love it since it gives you everything that you need to get unpacked and hit the water. In addition on the iSUP, you get:
- carry strap
- repair kit
- pump with pressure gauge
- 3-piece paddle
- removable fin
So, it’s a pretty complete package. Sure, you might prefer to use an electric iSUP pump or to get different paddle, but I still think that this is still a good package deal.
If you like to put your outdoor gear to the test, then I think you will find that this Vilano iSUP can handle it all. Made from the highest grade of PVC with a Korean drop-stitch, this inflatable stand up paddle board was built to last. In my opinion, you will get many seasons out on the water out of this purchase.
Though inflatable, I think you will find that this iSUP has a more rigid feel to it, like that of a solid hard board SUP. This is one of that things that makes it such a great race SUP. It was built to speed through the water. It is intended for long distance paddling while on flat water, but you can actually do a bit of surfing with it too, if that peaks your interest. Of course, there are better iSUPs for surfing, but still it is possible with this board.
And if you are clumsy like me, then you will really appreciate that the deck of this board has a groove traction for better grip – and it’s comfortable instead of being scratchy. There are also four D-rings and a bungee on the board, which is perfect for your ankle leash, dry bag and other things that you take out on the water with you.
Bottom line: at first glance, this looks like a solid buy and a great value touring SUP for the money. It’s made by a brand that I trust for quality gear at affordable prices and I can’t wait to try it out myself! Let me know what you think about it if you end up giving this board a try.
